About Fate and Fortune
It's easy to learn, fast to setup, and plays in 20-30 minutes.
Fate and Fortune is a light weight game for the entire family. Up to 6 pirates are tempted to divide up the Kraken's cursed treasure, trying to leave the table with the most loot. They can even bet on the misfortunes of their rivals.

How to Play
Each player has a game board with slots at the top for 6 gold coins, and smaller slots at the bottom to keep track of their score.
You select 6 coins per round, for 6 rounds. Each turn you flip over 2 coins to reveal a point value on the back side. As the rounds progress you must decide if you risk to flip over more coins for more points, or bank the points you have. But be warned - if you have two crossbones coins you BUST and lose all the points for that round.
There is also a unique optional bet when your opponent decides to push their luck. You can bet that they will BUST and possibly win a double or nothing bet.

Tactile dual layer player game board.
Designed for Blind, Low Vision, & Sighted Players
All of the game components for Fate & Fortune were designed with blind players in mind.

Two low vision players trying Fate and Fortune at the National Federation of the Blind national conference.
The game boards are dual layer creating slots for the coins and score token to rest in. We play tested these to make sure the coins and tokens would stay in place as hands move across to check their status.

The coins are tactile on each side. The face of the coin is an embedded star from a compass, and there are dimensional lines across the back sides representing point values: 1 line = 1 point; 2 lines = 2 points; 3 line = 3 points. There are also coins with raised pirate crossbones forming an "X" on the back.

The scoring token mimics the coins in a smaller version.
Even the coin bag has an embroidered skull face which can be felt against the black velvet.
